CENTRAL TEXAS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION, 2011
The CTAS will offer one or more scholarships to pay the meal and registration costs for participation in the Texas Archeology Society (TAS) summer field school in 2011. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the TAS at the time of registration for the field school. To be eligible you must be at least 18 years old by April 1, 2011, and be a currently enrolled college student majoring in or planning to major in anthropology or archaeology and considering a career in archaeology.
A committee nominated by the CTAS will select the scholarship recipient from among the applicants and applicants will be notified by Thursday April 21, 2011.
To insure appropriate review of your application it needs to be post marked no later than Monday, April 4, 2011.
The 2011 TAS Field School
TAS Field School is scheduled for the week of June 13-17. Participants will work on an extensive multi-component prehistoric site in Medina County about 19 miles north of Hondo. The Early Archaic component will be targeted. Camping will be at the Medina County Fairgrounds in Hondo. More details will be forthcoming.
